I originally bought the quartz version of this watch but sent it back because the second hands we so out of alignment with the markers. I then received the mechanical version which I have had for about six months now. The mechanical version has a more detailed face and in my opinion is more attractive. The glass on the back adds a nice touch of quality, the fact it is there always surprises me when I see it and I feel impelled to watch the mechanism working for a while. I bought this watch because I want to be able to read it in the dark. I own a Sinn 587 but the lume isn't very good for that sort of thing despite it cost much more than the Dive Master. (Sinn get your act together). This watch really glows and I can easily read at any point during the night (assuming you live in a latitude that experiences around 8 hours of darkness). I sometimes use a light to get it really glowing and you can use it like a torch after doing that, a totally pointless exercise really. I have had no trouble with the coating so far, there are no scratches anywhere I can see and I wore it every day while renovating my bathroom so it did get some rough treatment. The bezel works well, I wish they would make a 60 click version that is bi-directional then it would be perfect for me. As it has been designed for diving I am not going to take off any points for this. My Sinn has a nicer bezel but for the price this one is good. I wear my watch with a Zulu strap and it looks very utilitarian which is what I look for in watches I choose. With 500m water resistance you can wear it in the shower no problems assuming you get it serviced to keep it in good working order. It's not as heavy as some people suggest, I prefer heavier watches that is just a personal preference. Overall this is a well-made, attractive, durable and functional.

5Great look and feelAug 18, 2011

This watch is big, heavy and very high quality. It keeps time well and the PVD finish looks and feels awesome. I've had it for two months now and it has taken a beating without showing any signs of wear, it doesn't scratch easily. If you like big, thick, heavy, automatic watches this is the watch for you.

This watch is the by far my favorite everyday watch. After one year of almost daily wear, no marks on PVD finish and it keeps excellent time. My wife even comments when I wear my two-tone Rolex Sub, how she likes the look of this watch. Incredible value!

5This watch is Sehr Gut!Mar 08, 2012

Wish I had more time to write about it but Switzerland makes cool stuff! and I always had a thing for Victorinox. For Auto Swiss watches, this is the best deal you can buy with out getting a cheap knock off. Definitely buy a auto watch winder box though unless you wear it all the time. Love it! The Diplomat $100-$200 watch winders are real good too.

5MovementApr 09, 2012

Before purchasing this watch I did a ton of research on automatic watches. It turns out the movement within the watch is the most important aspect. This watch has a swiss movement that's typically found in watches $2k and up. This was a super value.
