3I returned this watchDec 28, 2011
By C. Clark
I returned this watch because it had scratches on the band. And I'm very thankful that it did - after I received it I really did not like it at all.

But, I'm going to try to be objective and review it in a way that'll help anyone looking for a watch.

Initial impression is that it's a good, solid Citizen Eco Drive watch. It's a good size men's watch, that can double for both work and play. Weight is nice, and of course, the eco drive (recharging via sunlight) is a really nice feature. But, from a cosmetic standpoint, there were some things that just didn't set well with me once it arrived. So, here's some pros and cons that I noticed.

PROs:
1) Nice weight. It's a stainless steel watch case and band, but from a weight standpoint, it's very lightweight (close to what you'd expect out of a titanium watch. So, it sits nicely on your wrist.
2) The hour and minute hands, as well as the hour markers, are glow-in-the-dark, so they're easy to see in low-light/dark settings.
3) The price is right (at 25% off retail - which is what local jewelers are asking for it - it's a good deal).
4) Nice size - it's a good size for a grown man's arm, and the thickness isn't too bad - you almost don't notice that you have it on.

CONs:
1) There is a pattern in the face of the watch, that when the light hits it just right, makes it nearly impossible to see the hour/minute/second hands.
2) It's not a black face - closer to a dark charcoal, but definitely not black.
3) The coin edge effect around the face is much more pronounced than what you'd expect - almost to the point that you could use it to sand down a piece of wood (ok, I'm being sarcastic here, but the ridges do stick out more than expected, and that's the part that really turned me off to the watch - get rid of that and you've got a really great watch).

All-in-all, it's still a good watch. If you like the style of it, you'll be glad you purchased it. Unfortunately, I found out that I didn't like it after it arrived, through fortunately I had a good reason to send it back and purchase something different.

5Very nice looking, light weight, affordable solar powered watch!Sep 21, 2011
By mstarr
Got this watch as a gift and I must say, this is a nice watch. As long as this gets light most of the time (just wearing it as normal), should not ever have to worry about it stopping. Very nice looking, WR for 100M, light weight, Luminiscent hands and markers stay glowing all night long for viewing. This is my first Citizens watch and I am very pleased. Not having to buy it is a big plus but it's worth spending the 200 for. In the world of very nice watches, I would recommend this to anyone and for the price compared to other very nice watches, it can't be beat!!

5Looks great and keeps good timeFeb 10, 2012
By G. Jacono
I purchased this watch because I liked the look and the water resistance plus the Citizen name. I have not been disappointed, as I have had it for almost 2 months and it has kept very good time. The dial is a good size and I especially like the knurled bezel which gives it an attractive unique appearance. The fact that it has both day and date is an added plus, as most watches do not. Also the black dial makes them easier to see. The band is sturdy and secure, yet easy to open and close. It came with a link removal kit and within a few minutes of taking it out of the box, I had a couple of links removed and it was on my wrist.
