Navy seals and u.s. Air force, luminox watches are designed to handle any sort of environment at any given moment. Luminox expanded the collection to include an entire line of watches of many types and styles created for the active consumer, the sportsman, law enforcement and military groups. The advantage of a luminox in comparison to other watches is its glow-in-the-dark capability. Every luminox watch uses a self-powered system of illumination powered by very small gas lights (borosilicate glass capsules). These allow the watch to glow continuously for 25 years while having a much brighter illumination system. Luminox watches need no external light source to "charge" the point on the dial or hands in order to glow as do conventional luminous watches. Nor do they require the push of a button to light the dial as do watches with electroluminescence. Being able to read the watches in any conditions, even in total darkness, is an important requirement of many military and law enforcement agencies. | | | Features: | |

Accurate, robust and looks goodJul 26, 2006
By Lothar V I've owned this watch for several years now. I've only needed to replace the leather band. I wear it doing yard work and to my office job, so it gets knocked around now and then. I bought it mainly for the bright luminescent markers which are easily visible, and makes the watch readable at night, even without my glasses. I've found it to be extremely accurate and reset the time only when I need to reset the date at the end of the month.
The crystal is indeed scratch resistant, and scratches that you might get are not visible to a casual observer. This watch may outlast me!

Nice WatchJul 13, 2006
By G Helo Good value and great delivery. I have 2 Luminox watches and they are very high quality. The 3401 is a much heavier model than the 3400 Seal watch.

Nice WatchJun 10, 2009
By cjb My dive watch died, so after a bunch of shopping and reading on watches, I settled on this one. Build quality is very good. The band fits well and is comfortable. The night glow is just right - it can be read easily at any light level.
It is a nice compromise between fancy dive watch and casual active wear.

Excellent quality. Built like a tank.Jun 04, 2010
By Mystro I have owned several Luminox watches before and most were the newer 45mm Evo Seal watches. I loved those watches but they were always a tad big for hunting and fitting under my camo cloths and jackets. This 3401 Nighhawk series is the perfect size (43mm) and build construction for punishing work. The rubber strap is much more comfortable than the steel bracelet and will be much more durable. The case design naturally guards the screw in crown and its round shape doesn't get caught on my cloths, gear, or bow sling. The original design is still the best design for real work. 43mm is still large enough to fill your wrist but not too large to become a liability. Bezel feel is firm and solid. Tritium markers are bright and easy to see. The second hand ticks away precisely and lines up with all the dial markers. The bezel also lines up perfectly with the dial markers. The screw down case lid is a must for any dive watch. Thats really what the F-117 NIGHTHAWK line of watches are. They are modified steel PVD version of the original Navy Seal watch with GMT markers on the bezel. I love the watch and it looks good in the woods, working, or going out. A very high quality watch that is built like a tank. The watch is also licensed by Lockheed Martin. That alone is a impressive credential. I recommend.

Best watch I have ever ownedApr 19, 2009
By Ernest C. Byars I've been wearing the F-117 Luminox watch since June 2002. It is without a doubt the best watch I have ever owned. I have looked at several watches that cost more during this time. None seem better than this one. The illumination system is still very bright and the original battery is still working. Timekeeping is unbelievably good. Believe it or not, I only need to reset it about once a year!
